This past Saturday God was all about healing joints! Several of our young leaders went to our local skate park, excited to see what God was up to! When they arrived they immediately saw one of their words of knowledge standing next to his car in the parking lot. He was wearing a sling on his left arm and one of the words of knowledge our leaders had was for a left elbow. So, one of our young people walked up to him and asked him if he could pray for his arm. The young man agreed and several of the people from our group gathered around him and place their hands on his arm. After they prayed he told them it felt a little better and how his AC joint was separated. One of our other leaders had also had a word for pain in the left shoulder, so what looked like an elbow, was really a shoulder injury. So they asked him if they could pray again and he said that was fine. After the third time of praying he said that it did feel a lot better, but that he still needed to wear the sling. Our group is looking forwards to seeing him this Saturday without the sling and without pain!
Then our group went into the skate park and started asking the young people there if they had any pain in their bodies. The skaters immediately asked our leaders why they wanted to know if they had any pain, and they told them that they wanted to pray for them because they had just prayed for a guy in the parking lot and that a lot of the pain in his shoulder had left. So one kid told our leaders that he had pain in his left elbow (here was the left elbow again!) So, they asked him if they could pray for him. He was a little unsure, but he let them. After they prayed all the pain was gone!! He also said that he felt tingling in his elbow! They told him that that was God's presence.
Then there was another young man that had told our leaders that he had hurt his left knee, but didn't want them to pray for him...that is until he saw his friends elbow healed. So our leaders gathered around him and placed their hands on his knee. As they were praying one of our leaders got a word of knowledge that the pain from his knee actually went all the way down his leg. She asked him if this was correct and he told her it was! So they kept praying. Then our leaders asked him to test it out, and he said that it was all better, the pain was gone!! He also said that he felt heat in his leg.
Our team was completely stoked by this point! They went over to another group of young guys and asked them if they had any pain in their bodies because they had just prayed for all these other guys that had gotten healed! Several said no, but one young guy piped up and told our group that they could pray for his wrist. So a few of them start walking towards him to pray. He was a little surprised that they wanted to pray right then and there, and also a little unsure about it, but he did let them. After they prayed they had him test it out and he said that it was a lot better!
No one else in that side of the park wanted prayer so our group decided to walk back to where they had started because they could see a few faces that weren't there before. They asked again if anyone else had any pain in their bodies. No one responded. One of the leaders asked one young man in particular if he had pain in his left hip. He said that he didn't. So they waited a minute and tucked into God's presence to see what was going on. A few seconds into asking God what was up another guy walked up to the group. He was a little older than the others, probably 18 or 19. They asked him if he had any pain anywhere and he told them he didn't. After just talking for a few minutes, one of our leaders asked him if he had pain in his lower back (because God had just shown them through a word of knowledge.) He said he did. So she asked him if she could pray for him, he said no and kept talking. Another leader then asked him if he had pain in his left hip, he told her he did, but that it will always be like that. He looked at them and said " how did you know that?" They told him that God told them. So they ask him again if they could pray. He finally agrees. As they started to pray they notice that the young man whose knee got healed is watching, so they ask him to put his hand on this guys shoulder as they all pray and to repeat after them. They said a simple prayer inviting God's presence and telling the pain to leave and then asked him to check it out. He tested it out and said that his back was better, but his hip was the same. So they all prayed again and had him test his hip out. He started walking and says, "Well, I can walk like a normal person now."
Our group came home so unbelievably excited to start building relationship with all of the young people that were there and that will be there this summer.
God is so AMAZING!!! And we cannot wait to see all the different ways He is going to encounter our city!
